There has been a few sightings of a bocat along the greenbelt area of Bretton Woods, Lancaster Park, Union West II, Waterford Crossing and Liberty Church. Because of the drought we have experienced over the past 3 or 4 years, bobcats and other wildlife have moved into the metro area seeking food and water. Bobcats generally feed on rats, mice, squirrels, rabbits, birds, opossums, raccoons, etc. To reduce the risk of a bobcat approaching you property, the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife suggest keeping your yard weed free, keep firewood on a wood rack, and minimize feeding wildlife such as birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc. Neither the City of Broken Arrow or the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife have plans to remove the bobcat unless it becomes a nuissance.
